Estes M. Atkins, 84, of Claremont died Thursday July 24, 1997 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Pastor Mark Royster and Rev. Kenneth Ryan officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery in Claremont.

Atkins was born April 11, 1913 in Richland County, the son of Adam Clark and Daisy Angeline (Stoltz) Atkins. He married Leown Wynn January 14, 1942.

He was a retired farmer and East Richland School District bus driver for 33 years. He was a member of Claremont United Methodist Church and Claremont Community Center.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert Atkins and his wife, Terrie of Olney and Philip Atkins and his wife, Shirley of Claremont; two daughters, Judy Hughes and her husband, Geoffrey of Bloomington and Becky Drake and her husband, Tommy of The Wooklands, Texas; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and seven sisters.
