Karen Breithaupt (Weber) - Class Of 1950

Karen Breithaupt (Weber)

Karen (Breithaupt) Weber, 85, born in Ft. Worth Texas, on February 15th, 1933, left this world to be with God on September 25, 2018. Daughter of Daisy and Vernor Breithaupt. (Vernor Breithaupt, while in Olney was Production Department Manager for Unocal and an Independent Landman.)

Karen is preceded in death by her loyal brother, Keith R. Breithaupt, her wonderful husband, Charles L. Weber, and her dedicated son, Brian K. Weber.

Karen is survived by her loving daughter, Cindi Williams and husband Cecil, Daughters-in-Law Laurie Weber Schwarzenberger  and Belinda Weber, Grand-Children Sara Linkus and husband Shay, Sean Weber, Justin Williams and wife, Alyssa, Alexandra Williams, Whitney Williams, and Great-Grandsons Maxwell Williams and Weylin Linkus.

Karen’s gift was being loved by everyone whose life she touched. She was truly an angel on earth.

She was a kind, dignified, poised, loving, gentle and gracious woman - who proved beyond strong and determined in the face of cancer. Originally given 3-6 months, she pressed into 4 years, only seen by 1% of those with her illness. Her quiet, yet unwavering and strong faith in God, saw her through what others could not bear to witness. Everyone commented on how strong and positive she was in the face of adversity. Her smile and outstretched arms greeted everyone she loved, and she loved everyone.

Surrounded daily with incredible friends on her island paradise, she still hoped, to the end, to be able to come back to Texas. Her passions were travel, books, friends and family. She was eternally optimistic, and she continued to look forward to life every day she lived; making plans for the future.

She was comfortable camping, or in the presence of royalty, or fishing with Dad...she was always herself, always perfect. A role model of grace and kindness, she was, and remains an inspiration to so many people. We send her home to heaven, to be with Dad, Brian, Keith, and all who loved her as we do.

Her Memorial Celebration of Life was held in the Main Sanctuary, at Pass-a-Grille Beach Community Church on Pass-a-Grille Island, St. Pete Beach, followed by a reception of friends and family in the fellowship hall.

Marcia Melrose (Tracy) (1960)

I dont remember Karen as she was a bit older than I  ( she graduated in '50 and I graduated in ' 60)  but Mom and Dad( Ed and Mary Jane Melrose) were friends of Daisy and Verner...and Pop and Verner worked together at Pure Oil in the late forties and early fifties....brings back memories of Olney in a special time of childhood in Olney and dear friends of Mom and Pops.... Karen sounds like a very lovely lady..... RIP
