James Fehrenbacher - Class Of 1967

James Fehrenbacher

James R. "Jim" Fehrenbacher, 68, of Olney, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  He was born on September 6, 1949 in Olney, IL, the son of Steve and Margaret (Gosnell) Fehrenbacher.  He married Sandi (Black) on December 2, 1972 in Charleston, IL.  She survives.

Jim was a former Commander and current Quarter Master of the Olney VFW #4226. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Jim had a career in insurance with Country Companies and was a Claims Supervisor and Property Specialist. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He enjoyed his grandkids, gardening, and working on cars. Jim was a devoted member of the VFW and enjoyed volunteering his time to the organization. He loved his dog, Oreo, who was his trusted companion until the end. Jim will be missed by all those that knew him. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandi Fehrenbacher of Olney; mother, Margaret Fehrenbacher of Olney; son, Troy Kepley and wife Chris of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Tanya Ginder and husband Jim of Olney; daughter, Bridgette Harris and husband Chad of Lawrenceville, IL; son, Jimi Fehrenbacher and wife Mandi of Olney; grandchildren, Calysta and Elijah Kepley, Megan Reid, Jesse and Cole Ginder, Bryce and Erin Harris, and Cooper and Molly Fehrenbacher; great grandchildren, Meric James Reid; sisters, Dolores (Sam) Amerman, Karen (Jim) Scherer, and Joyce Leist; brother, John Fehrenbacher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandson, William Grant Massey.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olney with burial in the Church Cemetery.
