Richard L. Barthelemy

Richard Lee Barthelemy, 74, of Noble, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in Evansville, Indiana.  Richard was born March 7, 1950 in Passport, Illinois, the son of Virgil E. and Evelyn Marie (Fulk) Barthlelemy. He married Glenda McKnight on March 3, 1973 at the Nazarene Church in Olney, Illinois. Glenda preceded him in death on November 23, 2021.

Richard managed MotoMart in Olney for many years. He enjoyed interacting with the customers and joking around with them. He took pleasure in raising farm animals and a big garden for family and friends. At home, he took pleasure in watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Richard also enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, rabbit, and squirrel hunting.

Richard and his wife, Glenda, had a strong faith and regularly attended the First Christian Church of Noble until they were no longer able to. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an all-around good man and a hard worker. Richard was a proud US Army Veteran, where he was stationed in Korea.

Richard is survived by his son, Chad Barthelemy and wife Shelly of Noble; son, Shanon Barthelemy and wife Jennifer of Newton, IL; grandchildren, Mercedes Harmon, Brandon Barthelemy, Macy Barthelemy, Holden Barthelemy, Hudson Barthelemy, and Bennett Barthelemy; great grandchild, Payton Richards; two brothers, Roy Barthelemy and wife, Tonya, and Virgil Barthelemy; and nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, friends, and spoiled dog, Gus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Glenda.

A funeral service for Richard will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one-hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Noble Cemetery and Full Military Rites will be performed at the graveside.
