James Harlan Pool III, 68, of Calhoun, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his home. Jim was born June 3, 1954 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois the son of James Harlan Pool II and Martha Louise (Rothrock) Pool.

Jim was a lifelong farmer and proud resident of Berryville. His roots ran deep, and he had a love for his land. When Jim ventured away from his homeplace he would feel Bonpas calling him back. Jim enjoyed good times surrounded by family and friends at "The Shed", the gathering place of Berryville. He had a passion for farming, he especially enjoyed planting corn in his John Deere tractor. Jim also took pleasure in hunting deer, quail, turkey, and mushrooms. His pride and joy were his eleven grandchildren. He liked taking them on side-by-side rides and fishing in the pond. Jim was a loving father and Papa and a great friend to many. He will surely be missed.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Alisha Duenas and husband, Tony; son, Eric Pool and wife, Christina; daughter, Andria Shan and husband, Brian; daughter, Tara Pool and Tommy Kasprzak; daughter, Ashlie Pool and Travis Bergbower; daughter, Kylie Smith and husband Adam; grandchildren, Kelsie, Jordan, Zach, Sawyer, Rory, Scout, Brylee, Lyla, Maverick, Liam, and Navy; sisters, Susan Trafton and Phyllis (Kent) Usher; brother, Michael Pool; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Mark Pool; cousins, Bruce Pool and Frankie Dorney; and nephew, Kyle Usher.

A visitation will be from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Walnut Grove Church in Parkersburg.

Interment will follow the service at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
