Vera Fern (Jenkins) Massie, 88, passed away on October 7, 2023. Vera was born on June 15, 1935, in Claremont, Il to John and Vivian (Luthe) Jenkins.

Vera graduated from the DMH School of Nursing in 1955. She was a Registered nurse at DMH for 45 years. She retired in 2000. She loved stock and NASCAR racing. She also loved to cheer on the Chicago Bulls.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years Richard I. Massie; children Tim (Karen) Massie and Jim (Carol) Massie; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Shirley) Jenkins and many other extended family and friends.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rosie and Gene Sowers.

Services October 16, 2023 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Hugo, IL.
