George T. Cummins

George Thomas Cummins, age 55, of Washington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 1983 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1927 in Olney, Illinois a son of James F. and Maria S. (Brinker) Cummins. He married Lenna A. Brown January 29, 1948 in Washington, Indiana and she survives.

George was a conductor for the B & O Railroad and the C & O Railroad for 33 years.  He was a member of the First Christian Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Philippines, guarding prisoners of war in 1946-47.

He is survived by his wife, Lenna; mother, Maria Cummins; two sons, Michael Timothy Cummins of Coos Bay, OR and Thomas Matthew Cummins of Columbia, MO and brothers, Dr. James F. Cummins, Frank B. Cummins, Joseph C. Cummins and Patrick A. Cummins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Cummins in 1952; a son and a daughter.

Services in the Gill Mortuary in Washington with Bro. Cliff Woodrum presiding with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Washington, Indiana
