Esther K. (Markman) McCreery, 74, of Benton, Illinois died Saturday afternoon, January 25, 1975 in the Franklin Hospital in Benton. She had been ill 15 years.

She was born July 20, 1900 to Rev. Otto L. and Hulda K. (Busefink) Markman. She married John A. McCreery, former owner of the McCreery Lumber Co. in Benton and a founder of the Benton Community Bank. He survives.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton. She had lived in Benton most of her life.

A brother, Paul O. Markman preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, J.A. McCreery; two sons, John A. Jr. and Paul W. McCreery, both of Benton.

Burial in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.
