William O. Fletcher - Class Of 1917

William Oliver Fletcher, 40, World War I Veteran and Past Commander of the American Legion Post at Olney, died suddenly at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 1937 in his home here. He was born February 1, 1897, son of William H. and Jennie E. (Browne) Fletcher.

He had worked on the previous day, becoming ill early Wednesday. He had been in poor health since his return from the war.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Alta Mae (Morgan) Fletcher, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Jennie Fletcher and a sister, Miss Amy Fletcher, both of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1921.

Full military honors will be accorded at services in Olney Methodist Episcopal Church. The American Legion will have charge of rites both at the church and the graveside at Haven Hill Cemetery.
