Rea Everett Taylor, Sr., age 81, of Decatur, Illinois died Saturday, May 17, 1980 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Mr. Taylor was born in Olney, Illinois, son of Henry and Alice (Martin) Taylor. He married Elizabeth Gove in 1954 and she died in 1978.

He had been associated with Shapleigh & Belknap Hardware Companies, retiring seven years ago as a manufacturing representative in the St. Louis area. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son, Rea E. Taylor, Jr. of Springfield; daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Mary) Turner of Decatur; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services held at a later date. Private burial in St. Francis-Xavier Cemetery, Jerseyville.
