Christian P. Porter, 57, former mayor of Olney, died Friday night, August 27, 1954 in Richland Memorial Hospital, born son of John B. and Margaret B. (Pfeffer) Porter.

Mr. Porter started his almost two terms as mayor in 1941. He resigned near the end of his second term because of ill health.

Mr. Porter was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Olney and builder of the Porter addition in southeast Olney.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. A.B. (Agnes) Sawyer, Jr, Louisville, Ky and Mrs. L.J. (Virginia) East of Normal.

Services in the Schaub Funeral Home, Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
