Leone Pixley (Chapman) - Class Of 1914

Leone B. (Pixley) Chapman, 98, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, February 7, 1995 at Holiday Health Care Center.

She was a graduate of Olney High School and McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill. She was a member of Indianapolis North United Methodist Church for 73 years, where she taught kindergarten for 35 years and organized the children's choir.

She directed plays for North Church Players and was a member of the handbell choir and Homebuilders Class. She was active in the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Alpha Sorority and the Nellie Ransford Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are a daughter, Annamargaret Clutter of Evansville; a son, David E. Chapman of Lake Forest, Ill.; four grandchildren, Carole Gormley, Robert Clutter, Cindy Law and Steve Chapman; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services at North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery there.
