Adam Muench - Class Of 1914

Adam E.G. Muench, 88, of Marengo, Illinois died Sunday, November 13, 1983 in St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford.

He was born September 6, 1895 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Bernhard and Sarah (Guyot) Muench. On November 10, 1920 in Chicago, he married Bertha L. Smith, who survives.

The founder of Muench Pharmacy, Des Plaines, Illinois, he moved to Marengo in November 1958. He was a charter member and past president of the Marengo Senior Citizens Club and a Veteran of Navy Services in World War I.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Dr. Robert J. (Cecilia) Muench, Arlington Heights, Bruce I. (Dorothy) Muench, Marengo, Dr. Ernest G. (Lillian) Muench, Caldwell, Idaho and Daniel H. (Sandra) Muench, Valparaiso, Ind; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Harriet Savage, Bellwood, IL.

He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Dean; two brothers and seven sisters.

Private services held in Ridgewood Cemetery.
