Donovan Duane McCarty, 80, of Fort Myers, Florida died Thursday afternoon, November 4,  1976. He was a local resident for 14 years, formerly of Olney, Illinois. He was born April 1, 1896 in Richland County Illinois, son of Clarence C. and Martha V. (Davis) McCarty.

He was a former Richland County Court Judge and former Assistant Attorney General of the State of Illinois, an author of three Illinois practice law books, a member of the A.F. & A.M. in Olney, American Legion and past Chef De Guerre of the 40 & 8 in Olney, Royal Palm Yacht Club, Art League of Fort Myers, Elder and Trustee of the First Presbyterian Church, World War I Veteran and former Rotarian.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Murray) McCarty and two daughters, Marianne Richart and Susan Hall.

Funeral services held at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Myers, with private entombment in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
