Edward King - Class Of 1914

Edward King, 65, of Lawrenceville, died Monday afternoon, August 21, 1961 at VA hospital, Marion. He was born October 1, 1895, son of Joseph W. and Sarah L. Askew King. He resided in Olney before moving to Lawrenceville 37 years ago. He had been an employee of the Texas Co. there for 31 years.

He is survived by his wife the former Nellie Lashbrook; a son, Joe of Lawrenceville; a sister, Mrs. Ardys Elder; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Lashbrook of Bridgeton, N. J.

He was a member of the Christian Church. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Richland Post No. 30, American Legion at Olney.

Services held at the Emmons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with Rev. Earl C. Zetsche officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, with graveside military rites by the Olney Legion Post.
