Mrs. Von Almen Dies Suddenly

The death of Mrs. Otto R. Von Almen, daughter of Marion T. Herrin, occured last night, April 21, 1924 at the Olney Sanitarium. Death was due to childbirth. Her baby, May Von Almen, died the following day, April 22.

The death of Mrs. Von Almen saddens many friends. Mrs. Von Almen was Miss. Zula May Herrin, and 27 years old. She was graduated from Olney High School and a teacher in the Olney schools, teaching at Barton School in Richland County from 1915-1917.

Zula M. Von Almen was born in Olney on September 1, 1896 daughter of Marion T. and Emma T. (Resor) Herrin. She married Otto R. Von Almen in Richland County in 1919.

She is survived by her husband; 3-year-old daughter, Pauline E. Von Almen; and father, Marion Herrin.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Herrin in 1900.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Evangelical Church. Mrs. Von Almen and baby were buried side by side in Haven Hill Cemetery.
