Ralph Wilson Broderick - Class Of 1907

Ralph Wilson Broderick, 85, of Urbana, Illinois, a former resident of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 27, 1974 in the Cole Hospital in Urbana, where he had been a patient for several days.

He was born in Newton, graduated from Olney High School in 1907 and worked in printing establishments in Olney and Lawrenceville. For several years he worked for the Mt. Carmel Register. He was married in Mt. Carmel to the former Constance Moore who died in July 1971.

For 39 years he was associated with the Illini Publishing Company on the University of Illinois campus where he was day foreman working with the student publication staffs, including the Daily Illini and the Illinois Alumni News. He retired in 1961.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Urbana, the Methodist Men’s Club, Niceaen Sunday School class, the Ionic Masonic Lodge in Decatur and the International Typographical Union.

He is survived by two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert S. and Isaphine (Wilson) Broderick.
