Carl Fee - Class Of 1907

One of Olney's finest citizens, Carl Fee, 68, veteran retired Post Office employee here, died last Thursday morning, March 15, 1956 at his home at 617 West Elm Street.

He had been in poor health since his retirement from the Post Office in 1950. Mr. Fee had served with the Olney Post Office for 42 years before his retirement and was well known by everyone in the community.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where he had been very active, particularly in the music department. He was also a member of Olney Lodge No. 140, A. F. & A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle L. (Matthews) Fee; one son, Charles S. Fee of Clay City and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Schaub Funeral Home, with Rev. H. L. Main in charge. Interment was in Haven Hill cemetery.

I can remember family vacations to Wisconsin with the Fees and Mom and Pop Fee,  and a parakeet?  Fun times, long time ago.   Kathy Van Cleve Burkhart
