Nelle Clara Crout, age 89, of Portland, Oregon, passed away February 27, 1978. She was born March 18, 1888 in Illinois a daughter of Norman L. and Lizzie M. (Shaw) Crout.

(According to the 1900 Richland County Census, the family lived in Olney at that time, Norman Crout was a grocer.)

Ms. Crout was a school teacher.

She was the sister of Eugene E. Crout of Milwaukie, OK; John S. Crout, Columbus, OH;  and Mildred C. Cole, Portland; aunt of Dr. Richard J. Crout, Bethesda, MD and Ted N. Crout of Miami, FL

Private services were held under direction of Caldwell’s Colonial Mortuary. Burial in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Portland
