Charles A. Shirley, 63, of Noble, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 5, 1969, after a long illness.

Mr. Shirley was born March 17, 1905 in Wayne County Illinois, a son of the late Thomas L. and Eva Bell (Bingle) Shirley and lived in Northern Illinois for a number of years, returning to Noble about three years ago. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie, a sister, Mrs. Harold (Effie) Runyon of near Noble, and a brother Everett Shirley of Mattoon.

Funeral services held at the Noble Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. C. Kindred presiding, assisted by Brothers Joe Eggebrecht of the Noble Christian church.

Burial at Greenhill Cemetery, south of Noble.  Military rites conferred by the Noble American legion Post.
