Margaret A. Balmer (Carlson) - Class Of 1904

Mrs. Margaret Anna (Balmer) Carlson, age 83, of Melfort, Saskatchewan Canada passed away February 27, 1969 at the Provincial Geriatric Center, Melfort, Sask.

Funeral services held at the Chapel of Warren’s Funeral Home, Swift Current, Sask. with Rev. Leonard Graham officiating. Burial in Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, Sask.

Mrs. Carlson was born at Olney, Illinois, December 24, 1885 daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Atkins) Balmer. She married Arthur Carlson in Richland County Illinois in 1925 and he preceded her in death in 1949.

Mrs. Carlson is survived by one daughter, Ida (Mrs. Olav Ryland), Melfort, Sask.; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. A.V. Newton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; one daughter in infancy and one brother.

Mrs. Carlson immigrated to Canada in 1919 to take a position as public school teacher in a country school north of Admiral, Sask. She and her husband moved to settle on a farm in the Vesper district.

She moved to Swift Current in 1949 and resided there for seventeen years. She moved to Melfort, Sask. from Nipawin, Sask. in 1968.
