Floyd Dale Thompson

Floyd Dale Thompson, 29, was killed near Windsor, Missouri about 5 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 1971 when a D-4 Caterpillar overturned as he was loading it on a low-boy trailer, pinning him beneath. According to Highway Patrol, the accident occurred 6 miles north of U.S. Highway 50 on Route M in Johnson County.  The victim of Windsor, Missouri was working on a television cable-laying project.

Funeral services were held at the Hutson-Hadley Funeral home at Windsor with Rev. Melvin Hill in charge. Burial was in Laurel Dale Cemetery at Windsor.

Mr. Thompson was born August 11, 1940 in Richland County, son of Herbert Dale and Eloise Leona (Berry) Thompson. He was married on March 6, 1962, to Sharon Lineberry of Dyersburg.Tenn.

He is survived by his wife, four children: Charlotte, Clark, Monica, and Roger all at home; grandmother, Mrs. Maude Schmoker of 129 South Camp, Olney; three sisters Mrs. Barbara Pinkston, of near Olney, Mrs. Audrey Bolton of Oakland, California, and Mrs. Ferna Miller of Oakland, California, and a brother, Victor Thompson of Dyersburg, Tenn.

The deceased was foreman with the Electricians, Inc. at Paola, Indiana, and served with the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1967.
