Frank Markman, Former School Principal Dies

Jerseyville, Ill – Funeral services for Frank H. Markman, 69, of this city will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zimmerly Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in that city.

Mr. Markman came to Jerseyville from Olney in 1921 to take the position of principal of the Jersey Township High School. He continued to serve as head of the school for 26 years.

The past several years he has been employed as a teller in the State Bank of Jerseyville.

He was removed from his home in this city the last week by ambulance to the Olney Sanitarium where his death occurred Wednesday morning, January 31, 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth (Zimmerly) Markman; sister, Mrs. Ida Telford, Olney; Mrs. Frank Koertge, Petersburg, Ind; brother, William, Olney.
