E. F. Ring (Parkersburg Elem -7,8)

Eli F. Ring, age 83, of 331 N. Silver, Olney and a resident of the Noble area for many years, passed away this morning, Wednesday, July 25, 1973 at the Richland Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements at the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home.

A lifelong resident of the county, Mr. Ring was born the son of Sylvanus C. Ring and Elizabeth (Daugherty) Ring.

He was a school teacher for years in the public schools of the county, teaching 7th and 8th grades at Parkersburg Grade School from 1952-1954. He had retired a number of years ago.

Mr. Ring was married to Esther Smith on July 7, 1916. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He leaves his wife, Esther; and four children, Dr. Harold K. Ring of Sanford, Fla., Captain E. D. Ring, USN Retired of Galveston, Texas, Jean Ring of Xenia, Ohio and Mrs. Catherine Matone of Harvey. There are 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Ruby Wright and Mrs. Chloe Diel, both of Olney and Charles Ring of Denver, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.

Four brothers, Carl, George, William and Verl Ring; two sisters, Ida and an infant sister; together with his parents, have preceded him in death.
