Viola Redman (Silver Elem)

Viola M. Redman, 72, of Olney, died Friday, June 14, 1991 at Richland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services in the Chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Grimmett officiating. Burial in Shields Cemetery, rural Olney.

Mrs. Redman was born Sept. 25, 1918 in Randolph County, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Diskey) Shields.

She married Orval Pershing Scherer June 6, 1939. He died Sept. 21 1953. She later married Robert Redman Aug. 27, 1955 and he survives.

Mrs. Redman was a retired school teacher in the Richland County area for 23 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church; Creative Homemakers Extension; Olney Women's Club; Retired Teacher's Association and United Methodist Women's Group.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Mrs. Redman is survived by one son, Russell Redman and wife, Cathy, Olney; two daughters, Marie Davis, Olney, and Mrs. Jack (Jean) Olson, London, England; one sister, Elaine Libbey, Ypsilanti, Mich. and six grandchidren.

Mrs. Redman was preceded in death by her parents and first husband.
