Alwyn Moudy (Parkersburg Elem -5,6)

Alwyn L. (Wisner) Moudy Lechner, 91 of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on September 20, 2016 in Olney, IL. Cremation rites accorded with private burial of cremains at a later date.

Alwyn was born on May 24, 1925 in Parkersburg, IL to Roscoe and Marjorie (Weesner) Wisner.

She earned her Teacher's Degree from McKendree College and obtained her Master's Degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. During her thirty nine-year teaching career, she taught almost 1,000 children. She taught 5th and 6th grade at Parkersburg Grade School from 1959-1968.

She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, the Eastern Star and the Pretty Women Red Hatter's Club. Alwyn enjoyed traveling, painting, knitting, flower gardening and being with her friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Don Wisner, one brother-in-law, James Pampe and husbands, Merle Moudy and Roy Lechner.

Alwyn is survived by her sons: Terry (Suzie) Moudy and Cary (Lori) Moudy, four grandchildren: Carl (B.J.) Moudy, Cary (Stacy) Moudy, Caleb Moudy and Jacob Moudy, three great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one sister, Alice Pampe, one brother, Jim (Linda) Wisner, one sister-in-law, Ruth Wisner and several nieces and nephews.
