With deep sadness we announce the passing of Alta Lee McKay Spear, July 3, 2017, Windermere, Florida, at the age of 86. Born in Holdenville, Oklahoma, February 21, 1931. We will remember her loving spirit, generous heart and commitment to her family, friends and students.

She taught Girls Physical Education, Olney Junior High and History, Richland County Middle School. An active member of the First Baptist Church, Olney, Illinois and Immanuel Baptist Church, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Memorial services held in Wetumka, Oklahoma with burial in Dustin Cemetery, Dustin, Okla.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Duane Spear, Windermerer, FL; daughter, Kathy Lee VanHoudnos, Springfield, IL; sons, K.L. Spear, Naples, FL and Kevan Luke Spear, Windermere, FL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Throughout the years, Alta (Mrs. Spear to her students) touched countless people. She will be greatly missed. Loving and kind in all her ways, Upright and just to the end of her days, Sincere and true in her heart and mind, Beautiful memories, she left behind.
