Ruth Anna Gobert Besing, 95, of Olney passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Burgin Manor in Olney. Services at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Ruth was born August 16, 1919 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Custer and Eva (Jacobs) Kincaid.  She married James E. Gobert on August 17, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in July 1979.  She married Warren Besing on October 16, 1993 in Olney. He survives.

Ruth was a retired teacher who taught for 35 years, spending the last 25 years at Silver School in Olney. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Olney, the Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Olney Women's Club, RMH Auxiliary, and Home Extension.

She is survived by her husband, Warren Besing of Olney; daughter, Jane LaFace and husband, Nick of Olney; sister, Sarah E. Gray of Powell, TN; niece, Cyndy Gray-Shipman of Powell, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, James.
