Thelma Godfrey (Central Elem -K)

Thelma P. Godfrey, 80, of Olney, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 1989, in her home. Services in Summers Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Logan presiding. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery.

Mrs. Godfrey was born June 21, 1908, in Crawford County, the daughter of James Leroy and Chloe Alice (Richart) Hedges. She married Fostine A. (Frosty) Godfrey May 21, 1938, in Hutsonville, and he survives.

She was a retired school teacher in the Crawford and Richland counties area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors, Women's Christian Temperance Union and Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a son, John F. Godfrey, Olney; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) Berger, Olney, and Mrs. Ron (Sharon Ann) Fehrenbacher, Wendelin; six sisters, including her twin, Velma McCain, Sullivan, and Lois Colliflower, Sullivan, Marietta Fleming, Pasco, Wash., Golden Belt, Lawrenceville, Virginia Wilson, Olney, and Roberta Houston, Mt. Carmel; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
