Beulah Petty (Claremont Elem -3)

Beulah Fern Petty, 83, of Claremont died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Olney. Funeral services at First Presbyterian Church, Olney. Denise Burke will officiate. Burial in Amity Cemetery, rural Claremont.

Mrs. Petty was born May 11, 1921, in rural Champaign County, a daughter of Roscoe and Maude Marie Fancher Baylor. She married Mason Petty on Dec. 23, 1944, in Homer. He survives.

Survivors also include three daughters, Donna Moore of Cuba, Ill., Deborah Petty of Springfield and Rebecca Scott of Fairfield; two sons, Jim Petty and Gary Petty, both of Olney; a sister, Winifred Mullins of Champaign; a brother, Cecil Baylor of Lima, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and an infant sister.

Mrs. Petty was a retired school teacher, having taught 3rd grade at Claremont, 3rd at Dundas and 2nd at Silver.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Olney.
