H. Marie Cowan, 68, Olney, died Sunday evening, April 18, 1982, in her home.  Services at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Eugene A. Soper and Dr. W.A. Robinson presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Cowan was born February 28, 1914 in Olney the daughter of John G. and Lucy (Leonard) Schnepper. She married Richard L. Cowan June 24, 1939 in Olney, and he survives.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and taught elementary school in the rural area prior to consolidation. She then taught first grade at Central School for six years.

Other survivors include a son, Gary R., Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dixie M.) Cocagne, Northville, Mich.; four brothers, Gus, Charles and Roy Schnepper, all of Olney; and Bennie Schnepper, Tavares, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Doan, Olney and Mrs. Bernice Nelson, Norman, Okla.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
