Virgil Prosper “Pros” Robards, 77 of Riverdale, Illinois, a former resident of Richland County, passed away suddenly this morning, October, 13, 1971 at the family residence in Riverdale.

Mr. Robards was born in Olney May 13, 1894 the son of John A. Robards and Tinnie Rye Robards. He had been an insurance broker for many years in the Chicago area.

He leaves his wife, Mildred, a sister, Mrs. Marie Hendershott of Olney and a brother, William Tel Robards of Lawrenceville. Also surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Summers and Mrs. Victor (Evalyna) Moore, both of Olney.

Funeral services in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home, with Rev. R.E. Dowden officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military rites by local veteran’s organizations.
