Shirley Stoltz Stout class of 55Shirley Anne Stout, 81, of Olney, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at her home at Emerald Glen in Olney. Funeral services at Chauncey Church of God with Pastor Duane Sovdi and Pastor Paul Alumbaugh officiating.  Burial in Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Stout was born July 25, 1935, in Olney, the daughter of Clark E. and Jennie (Mowrer) Stoltz. She married George B. Stout on February 11, 1955, in Chauncey. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2011.

Shirley was a homemaker, wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. She loved the Lord, the church, her family and any children with whom she came in contact. She loved to cook, made many beautiful quilts, and sewed many garments. She gardened, canned, and enjoyed fishing, where she did a lot of praying. Shirley worked in nursing-home facilities in various positions and was a caring and compassionate person, much loved by the residents. She spent the last few years in Emerald Glen Assisted Living and loved it. Shirley was a member of Chauncey Church of God, and a longstanding member of Olney Quilt Guild.

Mrs. Stout is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (John) Sarber, of Olney; son, Glenn (Nora) Stout, of Olney; son, Bruce (Kimberly) Stout, of Olney; daughter, Valerie (Robert) Turpen, of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, Jeff (Lindsay) Chamberlin, Luke Chamberlin, Lisa Chamberlin, David (Erika) Stout, Kyle (Shelly) Stout, Karen Mattingly, Reiley (Jacob) Michels, Sam Turpen; eight great-grandchildren; brothers; Warren Stoltz, of St. Louis, Henry C. (Barbara) Stoltz, Russellville, Ark.; sisters, Guinevere Hesson, of Hollywood, Fla., and Carolyn Schmitt, of Olney; many nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and her little dog, Pokey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son, Timothy, daughter-in-Law, Susan Ferrell-Stout, and brothers, Jack and Jim Stoltz.
