Susanne Wells (Hamilton)

Mrs. Susanne Gwen Hamilton, 21, the former Susanne Wells of Olney, was killed in a two car collision at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, February 26, 1967 at the intersection of Routes 45 and 52 near Peotone, Illinois.  Mrs. Hamilton was born October 7, 1945 in White County, Illinois a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wells.

She was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Daniel, also a former Olney resident. Also killed in the crash was Floyd Chamnsef, 48, of Creole Springs, who was apparently the driver of the other vehicle. His wife, Edna, 44, was injured seriously, and is a patient at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.

The Hamiltons had lived in Joliet the past 1 1/2 years, and were en route from Joliet to Kankakee when the mishap occurred. Mr. Hamilton was thrown clear, into a snowbank, but his wife was trapped in the car, which caught fire.

Mrs. Hamilton's survivors, in addition to her husband, are two children, Gwen Michele and Christopher Lawrence, both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wells of 415 E. South Ave., Olney; three brothers and two sisters, Glen W. Jr., Thomas D., Michael A., and Malinda Beth, all of Olney, and Roseanne Macias of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Also surviving is a grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Studebaker of Gravette, Ark.; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hamilton of Olney.

Services held at the Olney First Methodist Church with Dr. W. A. Robinson, officiating. Interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Grayville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home in Olney.
