Norma Jean Markman (Bunting) - Class Of 1949

Norma Jean Markman (Bunting)

Norma Jean Pampe Bunting, 90, born May 2, 1931 in Olney, IL, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 3, 2022, surrounded by her children.

Among those greeting her are her parents, Rolla and Mabel (Stevens) Markman, her first husband, and father of her six children, August Pampe; and daughter, Peggy Bugh, and her last husband, Glenn Bunting.

Among those to join her in heaven later are her daughter Sharon Roth and husband Gerald of Dickinson, TX; daughter, Janie Steber and husband Edward of Charleston, IL; daughter, Cathy Arteberry and husband Clifford of Parkersburg, IL; son, Paul Pampe and wife Janice of Parkersburg, IL; daughter, Julie Riddle of Parkersburg, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

God and family especially “her babies” were foremost in Norma’s life. She grew up in Parkersburg with her parents until she met and married August. Then her life was filled with raising children, volunteering at church, Bible School, Youth Fellowship, 4-H, and the annual chowder. For many years, Champion Lab was her second job. Entertaining friends with dinner and, of course, her singing and playing the organ was her delight.

As her family matured, she found time to go back to school. She received her High School Equivalency Certificate in 1979 and went on to get her Associates Degree in 1994.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Norma at a later date. Memories of your love and joy will fill our hearts until we join you in celebration in heaven.
