George Koertge Jr. - Class Of 1949

George Koertge, 68, of Parkersburg, died at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. David Ducommon officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Mr. Koertge was born Dec. 22, 1930 in Richland County, the son of George and Della (Ridgely) Keortge Sr. He married Norma Morrison Oct. 31, 1951.

He was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Parkersburg United Methodist Church and Parkersburg Ruritan.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Koertge of Parkersburg, two sons, Chad Koertge and his wife, Denise of Parkersburg and Todd Koertge and his wife, Diane of Parkersburg; three daughters, Cheryl Taylor of Highland, Angela Davis and her husband, Ted of Fairfield, and Trina Shipman and her husband, Scott of Calhoun and one brother, Robert Koertge of Albion; two sisters, Neoma Fishel and Irene Kollak both of West Salem; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and three sisters.
