Esther Gladys Ring, 97, of Melbourne, Fla. (formerly of Olney), died Friday, March 8, 1991 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Brother Gene Everett presiding. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery.

Mrs. Ring was born April 3, 1893 in Charleston, Ill., the daughter of William Henry and Josephine (Williams) Smìth. She married Eli Franklin Ring and he preceded her in death July 25, 1973.

Mrs. Ring was a homemaker. She was Past Worthy Matron, Order of Eastern Star in Saybrook, Ill.

Survivors include two sons, Eli D. Ring of Melbourne Beach, Fla. and Jean M. Ring of Xenia, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Matone of Matteson, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Harold K Ring.
