Mrs. Eli Curtis (Maude Matthews) Rice, 83, of Olney died Saturday, August 9, 1975 in Burgin Nursing Manor. Funeral services in Summers Funeral Home, Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rice was born June 14, 1891 in Richland County, a daughter of James and Rosa W. (Hughes) Matthews.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Olney and Women’s Bible Class. She married Eli Curtis Rice in 1910. He preceded her in death.

Surviving is a sister, Bess Doty of Lawrenceville.

One son preceded her in death.
