Elsye Mae Gates, 56, of W. 83rd St., Chicago, Illinois passed away Thursday, November 18, 1943. Elsye was born a daughter of Wilson S. and Hattie (Bowlby) Gates.
She was a teacher and the beloved daughter of Hattie Gates and the late Wilson Gates; sister of A. Delmar Gates, Lt. Col. Elvin R. Gates, Ailene Kiest and sister-in-law of B. Franklin Kiest.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilson S. Gates.
Services at chapel 1820 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago with interment in Manchester Methodist Cemetery, Manchester, Missouri.
