Florence R. “Flossie” (Christy) Oster, 86, died Friday, October 13, 1978 in Ironton, Missouri. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord, well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the Joy of the Lord. We shall meet upon those beautiful shores, beloved wife of the late George Gibson Oster; dear mother of Reverend Clyde and Dr. Dean Oster; our dear mother-in-law; grandmother; great-grandmother and aunt".

“Flossie” was a former member of West Park Berkley and Southwest Baptist churches.

She was born January 1, 1892 in Richland County Illinois daughter of Hiram Samuel and Rebecca A. (Morrison) Christy.

Flossie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George G. Oster.
