Emanuel Miller - Class Of 1910

Emanuel G. Miller, 89, 424 South Morgan St., Olney died Tuesday night, July 24, 1979 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Gardner officiating.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Olney veterans organizations.

A lifelong native of Richland County, Mr. Miller was born June 17, 1890 to Henry and Mary Eyer Miller.  He married Nell West in 1940.  She died in 1966.

He was a postal clerk in the Olney post office, was a former mayor of Olney and city commissioner, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was an active director of the First National Bank from 1948-1976, a Veteran of WW I, he was commander of the Richland Post of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the Olney Memorial Post 4226 VFW, a member of the Richland Barracks 466 Veterans of WW I, and the Olney Lodge 926 BPOE.

Surviving are sisters, Leila Bunn and Mae Marsh both of Olney; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
