Frank Feutz - Class Of 1909

Frank Christian Feutz, 74, a Paris contractor and president of the Frank C. Feutz Company was killed Saturday night, November 27, 1965 at Dover, Delaware. Feutz , a native of Olney, Illinois, died instantly after being hit by a car while he crossed a highway near Dover Air Force Base. He was in Delaware to visit his first great-grandchild, the daughter of Lt. and Mrs. Frank T. Feutz who is stationed at the Air Force base. Mr. Feutz was crossing the highway to telephone the couple of his arrival.

Mr. Feutz served as mayor of Paris from 1935 to 1939. During his tenure in office, the city constructed its first modern sanitary sewage installation.

Mr. Feutz was born August 16, 1891 in Olney son of Edward P. and Anna E. (Iaggi) Feutz.

Mr. Feutz was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Paris; Paris Elks Lodge; Masonic Lodge #77; Scottish Rites; Valley of Danville and Ansar Shrine. He was also a past president and past district governor of Rotary Club and held the rank of a life master bridge player.

Surviving are his widow, Charlotte; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Wright, Paris; three sons, Frank Jr., Danville, Donald, Paris and Robert, Danville; brother, Harry, Danville; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services at the Presbyterian Church with burial in Edgar Cemetery.
