Lottie Ferrin (Delzell) - Class Of 1909

Mrs. Lottie Delzell, 83, of Olney, a highly respected lifelong Richland County resident and retired elementary school teacher died Thursday morning, May 4, 1972 at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 18, 1889 in Claremont, a daughter of Ida Layton and Lewis J. Ferren.

She was united in marriage with Harry E. Delzell at Dundas in 1917, he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1959.

Mrs. Delzell taught for many years in the Cherry Street School and many other rural schools in Richland County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The Order of Eastern Stars, and Richland Chapter of Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by three sons, James, Robert, and Loren; one brother Ray Ferren, three sisters, Miss Bessie Ferren, Mrs. Doris Madden, and Mrs. Lillian Sherwood all of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother, Ernest. Services were held in the Zirkle Mortuary with Paston David McNabb officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
