Tamatha "Tammy" Steckler, Rottinghaus, 73, of Noble, formerly of Olney, Illinois, died on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. Tammy was born July 21, 1950 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy "Dot" (Davidson) Hayes. She married Joseph Steckler on September 12, 1968 and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2012. She later married Tom Rottinghaus, Sr. at the Free Methodist Church in Olney, and he survives.

Tammy was a lover of all animals. She cared for everything from cats to goats to squirrels to opossums, but most of all, Tammy loved her chickens. Tammy also had an incredible green thumb, and she had countless plants and flowers that she kept and gave away. First and foremost, Tammy was a caretaker. She took care of her first husband, Joe, for several years while he had a long battle with Alzheimer's. After he died, Tammy began a new chapter. A relationship began with Tom, resulting in marriage and moving to Noble a few years later. They lived happily together riding motorcycles and traveling. Tammy also loved her family and hardly missed a gathering. Tammy will be missed by those that knew her.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Tom of Noble; daughters, Lisa (Tony) Kittle of Dundas and Teresa Steckler of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Silas and Victoria Kittle; brother, Monty (Nancy) Hayes of Olney; sister, Cheryl Holley of Olney; sister-in-law, Cherri Hayes of Olney, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Joe Steckler, brothers, Brad and Greg Hayes, and brother-in-law, Joe Holley.

A funeral service will be held for Tammy at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

Cremation Rites will be accorded after the services.
