Margaret "Peggy" Coan Duran, 50, passed away at her home in Kalkaska, Michigan on Monday, June 17, 2013 after losing her battle with ovarian cancer.  She was born on July 6, 1962 in Olney, Ill. to Phillip E. and Ruth M. (Blank) Coan.

Peggy was a member of the Kalkaska Township Fire Department Station 7. She was also on the board for the Kalkaska County Fair. Peggy was a volunteer for the Northern Michigan DeColores Ministries and assisted in their weekend retreats. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Surviving Peggy is her son, Chadwick Andrew Duran of Kalkaska; her parents, Phillip and Ruth Coan of Kalkaska; her brother, Vern (Lori) Coan of Kalkaska; her sisters, Robin Maroncelli of Park Forest, Ill. and Lois (Jim) Nation of Kalkaska; her niece and nephews, Katherine, Gavin, Levi, Garret, and Nicholas; and her faithful companion and puppy, Liberty.

Funeral services at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Reverend Norman Dickson, S.J. officiating.
