Linda Sue Maxey (Michl)

LINDA SUE MICHL, age 59, of Olney died Thursday March 14, 2013 at her home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Linda  was born on October 12, 1953 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of George Allen Maxey and Norma Miller.

Linda married Joe (Archie) Dowds on September 4, 1971. They were married for 19 years and had two children. Linda completed her high school and college education in Olney. She had worked at AMF Roadmaster, went to OCC studying Cosmetology, worked with Home Interiors for 10 years and also worked at the Eagles as a waitress. Linda did volunteer work for teachers at ERHS, worked as a substitute teacher in all the schools, drove a school bus since 2007, and was an election judge in precinct #10.

Linda later married George (Fred) Michl on July 12, 1993. Linda and Fred lived in Oblong and then moved to Olney in 2002. They enjoyed their relatives and friends, grandchildren and taking small vacations. They had no children together but raised a grandson (Dalton Dowds) from five weeks old to age 13. He was like their own child. Linda enjoyed her friends and family very much. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Michl of Olney; Mother, Norma Maxey of Olney; Daughter, Leondra Laughlin and husband Jim of Olney; Son, Chris Dowds and fiance Stacy Stephens of Olney; Stepdaughter, Lisa Lynn Pinkston and husband Charlie of Oblong; Stepdaughter, Laura Ann Smith of Oblong; Stepdaughter, Lynis Jo Michl of Champaign; Grandchildren, Jordan Laughlin, Hope Laughlin, Hayden Laughlin, Dalton Dowds, Brevyn Dowds, Tristen Dowds, Deven Dowds, Kaiden Stephens, Saige Stephens, Elliot Smith, Kelsey Pinkston, Kailyn Pinkston, Breanna Michl, Isaiah Michl, and Ava Michl; Great Granddaughter, Charly Pinkston
Brothers, Joe Maxey of Olney and Rick Maxey of Salem, IL; and sisters, Sheryl Park of Olney and Connie Maxey of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Bobby Dean Maxey.
