Tona Maas - Class Of 1916

Mr. Tona Oliver Maas, of San Antonio, Texas, born in Olney, Illinois February 22, 1896 passed away Wednesday, August 30, 1961 in a local hospital, at the age of 65 years. He was the son of Martin Maas and Mary Emma Yonaka.  He married Louise Hertl.

Funeral services held in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery under the auspices of Bluebonnet Lodge No. 1219, A.F. & A.M.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Louise Maas; daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Grier; sister, Miss Laura Maas, Olney; brothers, Clarence Maas of Olney and Herbert Maas of Zion, Ill; three grandchildren.

Mr. Maas was a member of Olney Masonic Lodge No. 140 A.F. & A.M., Olney, Ill; Knights Templar, Chaplain of Aloma Barracks No. 150, Veterans of World War I USA and had been a resident of San Antonio for the past 8 years.

He was a W W I U.S. Navy veteran.
