Leila Gertrude Schahrer, 96, of Lawrenceville died Thursday December 5, 1991 at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.  Funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Koester officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Schahrer was born October 25, 1895 in Olney, the daughter of Christian F. and Dicie Elizabeth (Hanes) Scherer. She married Wilbert Henry Schahrer in August 1919 and he preceded her in death July 5, 1924.

Mrs. Schahrer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Richland County Schools 32 years. She taught at Central School 29 years.

Mrs. Schahrer is survived by two sons, Carl W. Schahrer of Bakersfield, Calif. and Irl C. Schahrer of Bellingham, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Elizabeth) Winchester of Olney; two brothers, Byron Scherer and Raymond Scherer both of Delta, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Edna Scherer of Olney; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schahrer was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one daughter.
