Albert Heath - Class Of 1916

Albert James Heath, 32, only son of Charles and Lille Heath, was born September 23, 1897, in Calhoun, Illinois. He passed away October 12, 1929.

He graduated from Olney High School with the class of 1916.

He was married to Nellie Stevens on June 26, 1916. To this union were born three children, Albert James, Mary Louise and Charles Chester.

In 1918 he enlisted in the Marine Corp, was sent to Paris Island where he had the flu and lay for weeks critically ill. He was discharged against medical advice. Since that time he fought the germ T. B. and put up a heroic fight always being so cheerful and optomistic.

Two years ago he went to Veteran's Hospital at Outwood, Kentucky, here by cheerful disposition he endeared himself to all whom he came in contact with.

He was a member of the M. E. church while he always said he wanted to live if he could be well, yet repeatedly said he looked upon death as a pleasure trip and that he was all packed and ready to go.

In March he was transferred to the General Hospital at Cincinnati, Ohio where he was known as the patient who always had a smile. Here on the evening of October 12th, he very peacefully passed away with his mother at his bedside. Albert leaves to mourn his passing, a loving wife, and children, father and mother, a host of other friends and relatives.

Funeral services were conducted in the M. E. church at Calhoun Tuesday afternoon, October the 15th by Rev. C. C. Cullison of Litchfield and Rev. C. B. Johnston of Calhoun. Interment in Calhoun cemetery.
