Last Rites Set For Berkley Man

Funeral services wll be held in Oakland, California on Monday for Richard Irving Morse, 45, of the Department of Agriculture’s Dairy and Milk Division. Morse died Thursday, February 5, 1943 at his home.

A native of Olney, Illinois, born December 20, 1897 son of Henry I. and Eva E. (Fritchey) Morse, and a graduate of the University of Illinois, he made his home in Berkley for the past five years.

He was a member of the Berkley Auxiliary Police, the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, the Knights Templar and other Masonic Orders.

Surviving are his widow, Jane J. Morse; a son, Richard I., Jr. and three daughters, Jane Carolyn, Helen Elizabeth and Mary Kathryn. He was the brother of Mrs. Dan Lewis of Danville, Illinois.

Services conducted by the Reverend Laurance L. Cross at Trumane’s Chapel. A Masonic committee will officiate.
